Description

Driver Authentication is the digital process of verifying a driver's identity before or during a trip or using the vehicle. It connects the "physical" act of driving to a "digital" user profile, ensuring that only authorized personnel can operate specific vehicles. This is a critical security and compliance layer that moves beyond simple keys to a "Smart Access" model. Systems use various "keys" to identify a driver, ranging from physical tokens to biological data.

Driver Authentication System delivers benefits:

RFID / NFC (Tap-and-Go): Drivers tap an ID card or a key fob against an IoT reader installed on the dashboard to authenticated.

BLE Tags: With the help of BLE Tags the vehicle detects their unique Bluetooth (BLE) signal, When they get within range to authenticate.

Biometrics (Face & Fingerprint): High-security fleets use AI-enabled dashcams for Facial Recognition. The system scans the driver's face upon ignition and periodically "re-authenticates" them during the trip to ensure no "driver swapping" has occurred.

PIN Codes: Driver’s Mobile App will authenticate by entering the PIN Code received at the time of assigning vehicle.

This is the most direct application. The vehicle simply will not start unless a valid identity is presented.

  • The system is hardwired into the vehicle's ignition circuit. To "unlock" the starter, the driver must provide a digital handshake via an RFID card, Bluetooth phone key, or Biometric scan.
  • It virtually eliminates vehicle theft and "joyriding" by off-duty staff. If a vehicle is started without authentication, the system sends an immediate silent alarm to the dispatcher.
